Week 5 (19-26/11)

After changing our focus last week from studying environments to motivation, we felt we must narrow down the term "motivation", besides that we found some great ideas for the future.

this week we all met at Amit's apartment to work on the project, there we chose to narrow "Motivation" to "Inner Motivation", meaning an inner sense of being able to peruse and work on things, a feeling of self-efficacy and drive that comes from our own thoughts and doings and not from external events. this new terminology helped us getting closer to a better-defined need in the real world but we feel that we still need to narrow it down into a more precise and practical need.

Using the tools Oren taught us last Sunday we were able to generate some great (and mostly hugely ridiculous) Ideas. We started by choosing five companies: "Strauss", "Nike", "WhatsApp", "Apple Music" and of course…"Playboy". from there we chose 4-5 elements for each company or product that we think comprises the primary thing that they do well then took this list and narrowed it to only the 2 most important things, for example, for "Playboy" we chose Sexuality, Entertainment, males targeted content and lifestyle. then we took this list and narrowed it down to sexuality and lifestyle.

Now the last part was the best part, we took each of those terms and put it inside a circle next to which we draw another circle overlapping one another and inside the second circle we wrote inner motivation. Now we had find a solution that is comprised from the two things, for example, if we chose sexuality and our given second circle is inner motivation then one possible solution is a game of strip poker but there's one major difference, in order to make your partner take off a garment you have to tick off an item from your to-do list and show evidence for completing it…that's some ridiculous game and we know it!

this ridiculousness really helped us getting started with ideas generating and even gave us some half decent ideas. Overall, we had a great improvement this week regarding our focus and the initialization of an idea generating process.
